Education: Masters in Mental Health Counseling, University of Phoenix, Salt Lake City
Specialties & Techniques: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness/relation and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), a technique
primarily used with those who have experienced trauma. 
Works with: Adults and adolescents

Specialties & Techniques: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy and brief solution focused therapy
​Works with: Children, adolescents, families, couples and groups
Elane has 30 years of experience in human service work, with five years serving as an elementary school counselor. Her philosophy of counseling is through alliance of the individual and the therapist; with respect, understanding and compassion, the two work together to resolve issues and enhance the individual's journey.

​Education: Master’s in International Disaster Psychology, University of Denver 
Specialties & Techniques: Hali specializes in client-centered, trauma-informed, EMDR, and grief therapy techniques.
​Hali's clinical experience includes providing individual and group therapy, serving on alternative court for adolescents with mental health diagnoses, building programs to support communities affected by acts of violence and natural disasters, providing individual and group therapy in the Denver County jail, and providing mental health support in Ghana.

Specialties & Techniques: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Lydia's clinical expertise includes working at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, crisis counseling, and mental health/substance abuse outpatient therapy. Her philosophy is to assist patients to live to their fullest potential by breaking down barriers and discovering their passions. Lydia is active in the community and loves to take advantage of the beautiful bounty of Western Colorado. Lydia is available for Spanish-speaking individuals.

Linda Manchester, MSW, LCSW, Senior Counselor

Education: Master’s in Social Work from the Colorado State University School of Social Work
Specialties & Techniques: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, and Brief,
​Solution Focused Therapy.
​​Linda’s clinical experience includes working in an in-patient psychiatric program, developing and implementing a child and adolescent residential psychiatric care facility, providing family mental health services, working as an integrated care therapist in an out-patient medical practice, assessing child development and providing parenting education in a pediatric clinic, and serving in a military and family life consulting program.

Saundra (Sandy) Sheppard, BA, MA, LPCC

​Education: Master’s in Counseling, Colorado Christian University 
Specialties & Techniques: Sandy is completing her LPC licensure as a professional counselor at CEC. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and substance abuse. Sandy has experience in crisis counseling, transitional counseling and special needs.

Kimberly Langston, MA, LPCC
Education: Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Colorado Christian University
Specialties & Techniques: Person-centered approach that is individualized by incorporating behavioral change methods, experiential therapy, and life-skills support
Works with: Ages 10-100, and families, especially for parenting support
Kimberly
 has a passion for helping individuals and families to create more fulfilling relationships, overcome obstacles, and rediscover hope. She splits her caseload between adolescents and adults. Her focus is often dealing with emotional turmoil, mood disorders and depression, chronic illness, and parenting crises, using orientations like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment or developmental approaches. Kimberly is supervised by Linda Manchester, LCSW, as she completes the hours required for her LPC.

Kathryn Ahearne,  BS, Therapist Intern 
Education: Masters in International Disaster Psychology (in progress), University of Denver, Bachelor’s in Psychology, Centre College
Specialties & Techniques: Trained in Psychological First Aid, interested in trauma-focused therapy, as well as narrative and humanistic modalities of therapy.
Kathryn’s experience includes doing art classes with adolescents and children in a hospital setting, and leading 4th and 5th graders in classes focused on social-emotional skills. As a CEC Intern, Kathryn is supervised by Hali Nurnberg, LPC, or Elane Johnson-Williams, LPC.

Laura Edwards, BA, Therapist Intern
​Education:  Master’s Level Intern, Adams State University; Addictions Counseling Intern, Colorado Mesa University
Specialties & Techniques: Client-Centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Integrative Systems.
​Laura’s counseling philosophy is through grace and compassion, to work in collaboration with an individual while supporting and guiding them to a pathway of growth and healing.  Laura has 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting utilizing the concepts of art therapy. As a CEC Intern, Laura Edwards is supervised by Elane Johnson-Williams, LPC.
Works with: Children, teens, and adults.
