Play Therapy - What is it and
what does it look like?
Play Therapy at CEC provides a safe environment where a child can expand
self-expression, self-knowledge, and self-awareness. It is best used for
children 3-8 years old.
Using play therapy, counselors facilitate the child’s ability to: express their
thoughts, feelings, and provides insight about their inner conflicts or way of
thinking.
Play is a child’s way of communicating. Through play therapy the counselor will
help your child to: express their emotions, help them to relieve feelings of
stress and boredom, regulate emotions, boost ego and teach them more adaptive
behaviors.
Counseling is affordable and a sliding scale can be used. We also accept
Medicaid and other insurances.
