Mental Health Counselor
Position Type: Full-time or Part-time
Salary Range: $19.50-$24/hour dependent on credentials
Position Summary: In accordance with CEC Employee and Agency Policies and Procedures this position will provide quality mental health counseling services.
Education & Occupation Requirements:
• Completion of a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Family and Marriage Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited or CACREP equivalent University
• License or Candidate status from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agency and an assigned
license/candidate number
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Knowledge of modern counseling practices and methods, which are guided by evidence of the best
professional practices
• Knowledge of existing professional ethical and legal standards
• Knowledge of good customer service and excellent people skills
• Ability to use a computer and other technology including cloud-based systems.
• Ability to make good decisions based on CEC philosophy and procedures
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide individual therapy and maintain a caseload of 28 clients/week.
• Actively participate in Feedback Informed Treatment and the utilization of My Outcomes, the Outcome
Rating Scale and the Session Rating Scale.
• Work as a team member.
• Promote the philosophy and mission of the Counseling & Education Center, Inc.
• Maintain clear and accurate client records.
• Participate in CEC fundraising and promotional events as needed.
• Other Duties as assigned.
About The Organization: The Counseling and Education Center (CEC) is a non-profit organization that has celebrated its’ 40th year of service to our community. CEC provides mental health counseling to anyone in need. There are no eligibility requirements and through the access sliding scale work with people who have no insurance or are underinsured. Services for people ages 3 to 70.
Benefits*: 10 hours of PTO per month, contribution towards Appleton Clinic membership, Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, 4 hours for wellness activities/week, continuing education, postgraduate supervision, eligibility for Colorado Health Service Corps, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs.
