I believe it is difficult to move through this world without being impacted by hardship. Many people experience intense thoughts and emotions, and some simply have more tools to cope than others. I entered this field to help individuals develop those tools and find new ways of understanding themselves and their experiences. I continue this work because I have seen how powerful therapy can be in helping people build the resilience needed to navigate life’s most challenging moments.
My approach to therapy is compassionate and centered on validation, which I believe is one of the most healing aspects of the work. I enjoy exploring thoughts and feelings and how they contribute to underlying beliefs about oneself. Together, we work to better understand these patterns by identifying the different parts of the self that influence inner experiences and behaviors, creating opportunities for insight and meaningful change.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Colorado Mesa University and am currently a provisionally licensed Social Work Candidate. I have one year of counseling experience as an intern at the Counseling and Education Center. Prior to that, I spent a year as a mentor and intern with Juvenile Diversion during my Bachelor of Social Work program, experiences that strengthened my clinical skills and commitment to this field.
I have completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Ego States work. I value creating a supportive environment where clients feel understood as they work toward growth and healing.
